JONATHAN ALAN McDONALD is a trial attorney who has a diverse array of legal experience including personal injury, homicides, capital litigation, civil rights and hundreds of criminal trials. His prompt investigation, extensive motion practice and successful jury verdicts have earned him a reputation as one of the most prepared and aggressive trial attorneys in the Philadelphia region.
In law school Mr. McDonald was on the Dean’s list, sat on the Executive Board and was a member of Trial Advocacy and Moot Court Honor Societies. He graduated with Certificates of Specialization for Trial Advocacy and Criminal Law, Pro Bono Distinction and was awarded the James J. Manderino Award from the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association for being recognized as the top graduate in Trial Advocacy.
Mr. McDonald received his professional training with a civil litigation firm, the Federal Capital Habeas Unit in Philadelphia and the Miami-Dade Public Defenders Office before joining the Defender Association of Philadelphia. He was quickly promoted to the Major Trial Division where he spent years exclusively dealing with the most serious felony charges and gaining experience in dozens of jury trials.
